Julia was born in Berlin, Germany in 1972 and obtained her PharmD from the Free University of Berlin, Germany in 1999. Thereafter, she went to the Department of Pharmaceutics at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, USA first as an intern then as a PhD student. In 2004 she received her PhD on Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of Corticosteroid Prodrugs and Soft Drugs. After obtaining her PhD, Julia joined Actelion Pharmaceuticals in Allschwil, Switzerland as a Clinical Pharmacologist. In this role, she designed, executed, interpreted, and reported early clinical studies to enable dose selection and clinical activities in drug development. In 2005, Julia started at Jerini AG, Berlin, Germany as a clinical manager, mainly supporting clinical development in early phases with focus on pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and data management/statistics as well as interaction with health authorities. After working at Jerini AG, she moved to Bayer Technology Services. During her 3 years at Bayer Technology Services, Julia was (co-)author of several protocols, reports, and submission documents and also interacted with regulatory agencies in several submissions. For the last 1.5 years, she worked in the clinical pharmacometrics group supporting drug development projects with Modelling and Simulation expertise. From 2013 – 2016, Julia worked as a senior scientist at Exprimo expanding her experience in Modelling and Simulation to a great extent. In January 2017 Julia joined Occams. Julia lives in Berlin, Germany.
Julia is a member of ISoP, ACCP, and AAPS and has been active in the organization of the PAGE meeting from 2014 to 2023.
